BarentsBird Festival in one of the largest festivals of the Murmansk region devoted to the culture of the Nordic countries. The festival program includes concerts of popular and experimental musicians, theatre and dance events, art performances, art and photography exhibitions, talks, film screenings and lectures. The festival has been arranged since 2015 as a continuation of previously held Nordic Days in Murmansk.
The aim of the festival is to develop the existing art-environment of the city and region by inviting culture professionals as participants. This significant annual cultural event attracts the attention of local and foreign residents to cultural events in the region on the whole and to the festival events in particular.

Barents Spektakel
The festival is a cultural-political cocktail with contemporary art and music, theatre and performance, literature and architecture including seminars and debates as ingredients. The festival first started in 2004 and has since been arranged already 15 times.
Barents Spektakel 2020 seeked the reality in the world of disinformation, misinformation and alternative facts. The Russian connection themed festival aimed to piece together the mosaic of clues about the extent of Russian connection in the West.
In the north, there is more to the Russian connection than global politics. Historical ties, trade and shared experiences have shaped the regions's governance, economy and culture - transforming the urban and cultural space and creating visible signs of Russian presence.
